Workshop for Indian region Kerala in Stockholm

About the case

With the aim to create a platform where suppliers from the Indian region of Kerala could meet and engage with the Swedish travel trade, Related was tasked with the organization of a workshop.

After having been briefed on the needs and wishes of the client, our dedicated trade team presented an event concept and possible venue options to the client, who choose The Opera Terrace in Stockholm as the preferred venue for the event.

Related took care of the coordination and communication with the venue, as well as we sourced Qatar Airways and PATA Sweden as partners for the event. Both partners attended the workshop with their own table. Another two suppliers from Kerala as well as Kerala Tourism were part of the workshop which focused on building and maintaining relationships with Swedish tour operators and to increase awareness of the destination.

Related handled the invitation process, ensuring that relevant representatives of the Swedish travel trade attended the event. More than 40 agents signed up for the event, confirming the interest in the region of Kerala.

On the day of the event, Related handled the set-up and preparations of the venue, welcomed the guests, and made sure that guests and suppliers were well briefed and that the workshop had a good flow. Further, Senior Travel Trade Executive Hanna Johansson acted as moderator and coordinated the course of events such as destination presentations and guest speakers, the free-flow workshop and catering.

The informative evening ended with a prize draw, where one lucky winner won a trip to Kerala with a 7-days all-inclusive program and flights by Qatar Airways. A second attendee was the lucky winner of a 5-days stay at the destination.

Our key objectives of the event were successfully met with positive feedback from the client and the participating stakeholders. With the positive response from the Swedish travel trade, our partners at Kerala Tourism are determined to follow up with further activities in the Nordic market.
